I'm currently designing a poster as part of the Dai Nippon exhibition in Glasgow. I've been watching some great films including Dolls by Takeshi Kitano. It's such a beautiful stylised film and I would really recommend it.
This was just a bit of fun for me really. I decided to print a little cat using the same medium as I used for my children's book. I reckon it could make a good pattern for wrapping paper.
I recently graduated from Glasgow School of Art and I'm now working freelance as an illustrator and printmaker.
This year my main project has been a children's book called 'Year of the Fox'. I am fascinated by nature and animals and wanted to create a simple but visually educational book. The book is very colourful and I hope that this appeals to children.
I have been focusing on relief printing this year, particularly lino-cut but I also enjoy line drawing as it provides a lot of detail.
Future projects include another children's book, a graphic novel, posters for an exhibition in Glasgow and an advertising project for a Belfast-based company.
